Dear families,
Thank you for a wonderful 2024 of French learning and fun events, featuring a special 25th anniversary celebration of the FANS bilingual program.
For some students, growing a year older means starting a new chapter. Farewell and best of luck to those who are graduating, moving away, or moving on.
For the families who are returning to KHPS, we look forward to seeing you in 2025!
For those who are new to the school, welcome to the community! We hope you feel right at home in this very welcoming, diverse school and we encourage you to attend the upcoming events to meet other families and get involved.
As we plan for 2025, please note the key dates below, and read on to celebrate some of the highlights from Term 4.
Warmest wishes for a happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year!

French Market success!
Over 300 volunteers, 60 VIP guests, 7 sponsors, 70 stall holders, and thousands of marketgoers all came out to enjoy the sunshine while supporting the 18th edition of the French Market.
Thank you! Merci beaucoup!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks for helping make this year's French Market a great success.
French Market in numbers
Wow! Here's a snapshot of the sales:
287 donated cakes and baked goods
800 sausages
850 crêpes
885 snow cones
1183 French books
710 Orangina
700 baguettes
330 reusable cups
The French Market 2024 has successfully raised $70,000 net towards our not-for-profit association. This is an outstanding result!
Key fundraiser for bilingual education
While the bilingual program fees cover teacher salaries, the FANS budget relies on fundraising to cover the association's operating costs and new learning resources, including computers, books, and the refurbishment of the French resource room in 2025. The French Market is the association's main fundraising event, helping to keep fees affordable and accessible.
Musical performances
Congratulations to the wonderful student performers who danced, sang and played beautiful music, and to the teachers, conductors, tutors and parent helpers for their dedication. Our school has an enviable music program, and everyone should be proud of the quality of their hard work and results.
Student volunteers
The team of around 40 helpful children was so impressive! Community spirit is alive and well with this new generation, with children helping their parents at stalls, greeting guests at the gates, selling raffle tickets, and setting up and packing away.
Even though they worked hard, the children still had time to enjoy the fun rides, games, and goodies throughout the day.
Alumni helpers
We were so happy to greet many graduated students who gave their time over the weekend, as well as the alumni parents who enjoy helping. This is why we work so hard to put on events for the community: to build strong friendships and a sense of belonging, reinforcing the core FANS value of Connecting People & Cultures.
Organising committee
Huge thanks to the volunteers of the organising committee for their many months of hard work putting this event together. Your contributions are massive and you are all outstanding in your roles.
School and P&C organisation
Thank you to KHPS and the P&C for their collaboration with ensuring the success of this endeavour. We appreciate your support!

Important Dates 2025
Thank you teachers & staff!
Thank you to our incredible teachers of French for their patience, flexibility and dedication with the students.
KHPS is a unique public school with the addition of the FANS bilingual program, requiring a lot of coordination between the school and FANS teams. We are grateful for everyone’s hard work all year long to make the bilingual program possible.
Wishing a happy summer holiday to our wonderful teachers, who make the magic happen in class.
French Spelling Bee challenge
This term saw all Anglophone and Francophone stream students competing in the annual French Spelling Bee. After practicing their word lists at home, finalists were selected from each class for the final competitions.
Congratulations to all of the students for their preparation and participation, and a special bravo to the finalists and the winners!
There were some tight battles, and we are very proud of everyone for their presentation skills and spelling accomplishments. The FANS teachers and staff jury members were very impressed by the students’ spelling level. It’s clear that they’ve been working hard in class and at home.
Bilingual Program Fees 2025
As a bilingual program within a public school, we are committed to maintaining an affordable quality bilingual program. FANS is a not-for-profit assocation and aims to make bilingualism accessible to all families. Our program fees are very competitive compared with independent and international schools.
The annual program fees of $1,670 for the Anglophone stream, and $4,195 for the Francophone stream, cover teacher salaries for the 2025 academic year.
With a unique 1:15 average teacher-student ratio in most classes, the FANS bilingual program offers great value as an investment in your children’s bilingual education.
Please carefully read the general terms and conditions of the bilingual program and of the Association.

Alumni volunteers
FANS is very proud of the bilingual alumni volunteers who have returned to KHPS to help in the classroom for high school Work Experience, and helped in the office towards the Duke of Edinburgh award.
Thank you Chloe, Jennie and Alex for spending time with us in Term 4, and for modelling what a bilingual high school student can do with their language skills beyond primary school. These three students are also enrolled in the FANS high school classes to pass their next DELF certificates.
If you know someone who's looking for volunteer hours in 2025, please get in touch! FANS offers a variety of interesting tasks in the office and while preparing for events, and we are always keen to welcome back former KHPS students.
Until next year...
Happy Holidays and Joyeux Noël!
We wish you a happy and safe summer break.
Best regards,
The FANS team
